Exploring different fencing options
Post Options
(For traditional panel and post installations)
There are a range of different fencing styles and options available, we explore these options below
Concrete Posts
Concrete fence posts are strong, durable, and weather-resistant providing a long lasting installation. So if you’re planning to be in your home for the long term this type of option is well suited as it will withstand the elements for years to come and not rot like wood.
The image shows a concrete post with a concrete gravel board (concrete along the bottom) with a closeboard fence panel.
Wooden Posts
Wooden fence posts offer a natural and versatile option for supporting fences, blending seamlessly into outdoor spaces. Treated for durability, they resist rot and decay, lasting 5-10 years in the ground. Cheaper than a concrete post.
The image shows wooden fence posts with overlap fence panels which is typically the cheapest and fastest fencing installation.
Panel Options
Closeboard Panels
A closeboard panel is the most expensive, apart from composite but looks fantastic with concrete posts and gravel boards for a traditional look. This is the most expensive type of installation but provides excellent durability and longevity.
Overlap Panels
An overlap panel is the cheapest type of panel but still looks great, we only source locally and our materials are of the highest quality. An overlap panel can be paired with concrete or wooden posts. It can also be installed with a concrete gravel board.
Feather Edge
Feather edge fencing is a sturdy and stylish option, perfect for creating privacy and defining boundaries. The term “feather edge” with regards to a fence panel refers to the tapered profile of the board. It is thinner on one side and thicker on the other, creating a natural overlapping effect. This creates an aesthetically pleasing finish.
The feathers or individual slats are fixed onto a post and rail system, a feather edge fence provides a seamless look as can be seen in the image below.

FAQ
How do I make payment?
For all landscaping works we typically take all the material cost up front to allow us to pre-order everything with labour on completion depending on the length of the job.
Are you insured?
Yes we are insured with public and professional liability insurance in-case anything goes wrong.
Are you local?
: Yes. We are local and based in Milton Keynes and passionate about delivering you the very best service.
How long does it take to complete the work?
This really depends on the size of the project, this can range from a few days to a few weeks and depends on how many of the team are required. We can give you an estimate but things can change.
What is your lead time to complete any work?
We can let you know this when you contact us, typically for larger projects you should expect to wait between 6 to 12 weeks depending on our workload. For smaller jobs we can often squeeze this in in a shorter period.
Do you do garden design?
We are happy to help with ideas and suggestions for your garden based on our experience, but we don’t do 3d garden design. We are happy to work off designs you provide or your guidance or sketch together what your garden will look like.
How much will it cost?
This depends on a huge array of factors so it’s difficult to say, we will provide you with a quote or estimate to complete the work once we have visited and discussed what is required in more detail.
What time of the year can landscaping works be undertaken?
All year round, with the exception of extreme cold and heat events generally there are no months where we couldn’t complete a project.
How much noise is made?
There is noise generated for example from concrete breakers, mixers and more. We appreciate customers who work from home this could be a problem so just speak to us so we can make suitable adjustments.
Do I need to be at home?
No, generally the first day it’s a good idea to be home so that there is no confusion on the exact works being undertaken after that we may need to speak to you about some specifics or preferences if that’s required so that your garden meets your expectations. Additionally we will need access to running water, electricity and a toilet. If you don’t want us to use your toilet we will hire in at additional cost.
